COMMUNITY nurses have been ‘overwhelmed’ by donations of vital equipment from residents and businesses to help protect them during the coronavirus pandemic.
The team of 15 district nurses are based at the community hospital in Bexton Road, Knutsford, and visit people in their own homes and residential homes.
“We have been overwhelmed by the generous donations we have received during this difficult period,” said Jane Bayley, lead advanced clinical practitioner with the Knutsford community nursing team.
“We have had PPE, visors, hand gel, scrubs, a roll of car seat covers and a hamper.”
“This is a completely new situation for us, and we are so grateful for people’s support.”
The donations include 30 pairs of science lab goggles, masks, two hazmat suits, alcohol gel from The Prescription Service and 50 visors.
The nurses have received 30 sets of scrubs made by residents, who are also making 30 scrub caps, and a resident dropped off a hamper of treats.

Jane added: “We would like to say a heartfelt thank you for the donations we have received over the last few weeks.
“Your generosity has enabled us to work more effectively and safely, making sure we keep ourselves safe so we can look after you and your loved ones. All the donations have really helped, and we will be forever grateful.”
