TIM Bird and Mary McLaughlin have thanked villagers for supporting their new Village Pub Hub Shop and delivery service.

The shop is based at the Roebuck Inn in Mobberley, which closed on March 20 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

It offers ‘Dishes that Deliver’, wine, ale and gin shops, grocery boxes and household essentials.

Tim said: “The most important thing is for everyone to get well, but in the meantime people may enjoy a little taste of the pub at home.

“We are busy trying to help the village and beyond, and are using the space as a hub to helping the local community.

“We will update everyone regularly through newsletters, Instagram and on our website. Thank you for your continued support, we all really appreciate it.”

The Pub Hub is open from midday to 6pm, and telephone orders can be placed on 01565 873939 from 10am until 6pm.

Tim said: “Please collect from us at the Roebuck Inn, or we can deliver within a three-mile radius via Link-line, our local transport provider, at a cost of £3 per delivery, which will go directly to Link-line, supporting one of our local suppliers.

“Andy, our Roebuck Inn head chef, will be preparing our own ‘Just Heat’ freshly-prepared dishes for you to heat at home, from soups to fish pies. Please see our ‘Dishes that Deliver’ page.

“You can purchase local Sapling Farm eggs, local cheeses, unsalted butter, Massey’s farm potatoes, Cheshire Farm Ice cream, farm apple juice, ‘Brown bag crisps’, Filberts peanuts.

“We have set up the ‘wine shop’ so you can add wine to your delivery order or order and collect it, and to help our local brewers we have ale to go.

“Again these can be added to your order and be picked up or delivered.

“We also have gins available to order by the bottle from David and Ben at the Big Hill Distillery based at the Church Inn and further afield.

“We have also teamed up with our fruit and veg supplier Wellocks, so you can now avoid trips to the supermarket.

“You can order food boxes via wellocksathome.co.uk, and these will be delivered for you to the Roebuck Inn.

“From Friday, March 26 we will also have a small list of household essentials.”
