WAITROSE in Wilmslow has set aside a reserved selection of some essential supplies for NHS workers to recognise their ‘incredible’ work.
A store spokesman said: “It’s our way of saying a small thank you for everything you do for us all. Thank you NHS.”
The company said to help ‘our NHS heroes’ daily essentials would be kept aside just for them, and once they got to the checkout they would have priority treatment. In addition John Lewis Partners have put together care packages they will be delivering to NHS facilities around the country.
Customer numbers are being limited at Waitrose stores so social distancing can be observed. Dedicated marshals will monitor the ‘two-metre’ rule in busiest shops.
Screens are to be introduced at checkouts and extra cleanliness measures. Special protective visors are to be made available to all Partners, and cashless and contactless shopping is encouraged.
