NHS staff have been enjoying lunch donated by Wilmslow café and wine bar Smoke.
The business has closed because of the coronavirus pandemic, and used its remaining food to make sandwiches for the GI investigation team at Manchester Royal Infirmary to thank them for their ‘incredible work at this difficult time’.

The lunch gift including a selection of cakes, along with a note which said: “Please keep on fighting. This is an awful time, but we all appreciate what you guys are doing for this country.”
Smoke was thanked by the NHS staff, who said: “Thanks so much to Smoke in Wilmslow, who due to having to close their doors in light of Covid-19, dropped off their remaining food in the form of tasty sandwiches to our GI investigation team. Thank you for your generosity.”
