WILMSLOW town councillor Hannan Sarwar teamed up with Tatton Conservative Association to raise £370 to support the homeless and those with mental health issues

The money was raised at a cake and coffee event in aid of Melissus Project CIC, which supports people experincing mental health issues, homelessness or poor housing through a person-centred approach to creative activity. The fundraising event was held on March 7 in Wilmslow.

Hannan said: “Thank you to everyone who attended my fundraiser and to those who have donated. I visited Melissus and handed over the funds raised as well as again spending some time talking to the residents and seeing the amazing artwork they have produced.

"Thank you to Tatton Conservatives for all your support.”

Denis Ward and Sandra Evers from Melissus said: “The funds will be valuable in supporting the continued work of the Melissus Project in providing a meaningful service to people experiencing homelessness, poor housing and mental health issues.

“We are extremely grateful for the support received from Cllr Sarwar and everyone who contributed.”
