MAKERS Market organisers have cancelled next month's market in Knutsford because of the coronavirus pandemic and advice on the risks of social gatherings.

They said: "We have come to the decision, in conjunction with the Knutsford Town Council, to cancel the April event due to be held in just over two weeks.

"We understand how popular the Knutsford Markers Market is, and that this will be a disappointment to stall holders and visitors alike.

"But we hope you will agree that this is the correct decision to make in light of the market's popularity and the current advice on social gatherings and the risk to health.

"Irrespective of measures to shift the nature of the market from a place of congregation and engagement to one where contact is kept to a minimum, we feel this decision is wise due to the market's success.

"Working with our stall holders we are introducing an online delivery and collection service, which means that our community will have the opportunity to purchase their market favourites, and have this delivered to their home or a local pick up point in Knutsford.

"This is now live at themakersmarketshop.co.uk. We thank you for your support. Keep well Knutsford."
