DETAILS of the Kids Planet nursery set for Winnington Village’s new ‘district centre’ have been revealed.

The nursery – along with a community centre, Co-op, and six food or retail units – has outline planning permission, with this latest application seeking to finalise the design.

Phase two of the ‘district centre’ project is earmarked for a family pub.

Northwich Guardian:

The day nursery’s teaching spaces will be broadly split into three main age groups – children aged 0 to two, two to three, and three to five.

Each teaching space includes a sensory room and staff support facilities, as well as access to a covered area for outdoor play.

Play areas will be enclosed by 2m-high wire mesh fencing, with all internal and external areas of the building covered by CCTV.

A planning statement said: “The district centre is the new commercial hub at the centre of the new Winnington Urban village housing development.

“The district centre site contains a number of retail units, a convenience store, a community centre/hall and is also earmarked to accommodate a family pub.

Northwich Guardian:

“We believe that the scale, position and design of the building is in keeping with the spirit of the outline approval and entirely in keeping with the setting created by the adjacent retail and convenience store units.”

Co-op is expected to open in the coming weeks.
