FIREFIGHTERS tackled a caravan fire involving a gas canister overnight.
Crews from Holmes Chapel and Middlewich were called to Wash Lane in Allostock shortly after midnight today, Tuesday, March 10.
Fortunately, there was no one in the caravan.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "On arrival crews found the caravan well alight. No-one was inside the caravan.
"Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to fight the fire.
"A gas canister was involved in the fire. Firefighters cooled it down and moved it away from the caravan.
"Once the fire was out firefighters damped the caravan down to make it safe, monitoring temperatures with a thermal imaging camera.
"The gas canister was also thoroughly cooled down
"Firefighters were in attendance for around half-an-hour."
