JOGGING fans young and old are inviting to dig out their trainers for the Knutsford Jog on Sunday, March 15.

The Rotary Club of Knutsford is staging the 21st sponsored Knutsford Jog, an event first held in the year 2000 and which has raised more than £100,000, nearly all for local charities.

The Jog is a fun event for people of all ages, who can jog, skip, run or walk around the 750-metre course on the Moor. The course is open at 9.30am and the Jog starts at 10.30am, lasting for one hour.

A Rotary spokesman said: “Many schoolchildren regularly join in, and we have reached a point where those who were children 20 years ago are now bringing their children to the Jog.

“This year we are supporting the Mid Cheshire Riding for the Disabled and other good causes supported by the Rotary Club of Knutsford.

“The Mid Cheshire RDA is a small organisation that gives riding lessons to the disabled of all ages. It operates from the New Barn Livery at Ollerton and started in the 1970s.

Knutsford Guardian:

The event is supporting Riding for the Disabled

“A group of more than 60 volunteers provide support to about 100 riders, and it is a good example of a small local charity that does sterling work in our community.

“The Rotary Club is indebted to many companies in the town which support the Jog, in particular the Guardian and Norkem Ltd.”
