ALMOST 50 speeders were caught in Northwich Road on Thursday by Knutsford Police, the highest speed recorded being 50 mph in the 30 mph limit.

The 46 speeders were caught by Police Community Support Officer CSO Chris Pountain during a speed enforcement session using the TruCam.

The figures come in the wake of figures released by Knutsford Police showing 58 speeders were caught during February.

A total of 22 were caught in Chelford Road on February 5, eight in Goughs Lane on February 13, eight in Chelford Road on February 18 and 20 in Mobberley Road on February 24.

Over the past week there have been two vehicle thefts in the area, both Audis, which stolen overnight from driveways. If you notice anything suspicious please call 101.

Police are asking people to be on their guard for rogue traders being active in the area.

Recently an elderly resident was almost conned out of £36,000 for roof repairs that were not required.

A total of 14 arrests were made by Knutsford Police last month, including four for drink driving, one for drug driving, one for burglary, two for assault, one for theft from a shop and one for a firearms offence.
