FIRE crews attended a two-car crash in Tabley this morning (Wednesday).

At about 5.45am firefighters were called to reports of a collision at the junction of Chester Road and Northwich Road.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "On arrival crews found the collision involved two saloon cars and that a casualty was trapped inside one of them.

"Both lanes of the westbound side of one of the roads was closed as emergency services worked at the scene.

"After being assessed by paramedics, she was able to get out of the vehicle by herself.

"She and another casualty were taken to hospital in ambulances. They are believed to have gone to hospital for precautionary checks.

"Oil had spilt onto the road as a result of the collision. Firefighters used absorbent materials to remove the oil from the road.

"They also assisted the police in removing debris from the road. Firefighters were in attendance for around half an hour."
