VEHICLES will be unable to access the A338 northbound from Blackwater junction overnight next week due to the latest phase of road improvements.

Temporary three-way traffic lights will be in operation for lane closures over five nights, from Monday, February 24, up to and including Friday, February 28, from 8pm until 6am.

Throughout these works the northbound on slip to the A338 from the B3073 will be closed, with single lane traffic running through the junction.

During these closures engineers will be carrying out surfacing works at the Blackwater West junction and the on-slip. Once completed, there will be a new A338 on-slip northbound and a revised junction layout.

Motorists travelling through the area or taking a late flight from Bournemouth Airport have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys.

Work started on the B3073 Blackwater West junction improvements in July last year and are scheduled to be completed.
