AFTER going through two miscarriages, one couple has finally got their happy ending by announcing their baby's gender at their wedding.

Nicola and Rob Parker, both 36, married at the Pyramid and used their Parr Hall reception for a surprise gender reveal.

Nicola said: "We knew that we wanted to find out if it was a boy or a girl but we wanted to think of a different way to do it.

"After the first dance finished the confetti canons went off and it was blue.

"Rob was made up!

"Rob's dad passed away on Halloween and we found out we were pregnant the following morning so everyone was saying it would be a boy.

"We'd been trying for a while as we'd had two miscarriages so it was nice to get a happy ending."

Daughter Georgie-Mai, seven, was even given her own ring at the ceremony, with Rob promising to love and protect her.

Nicola and Rob, from Latchford, have been together since 2017 after meeting in the town centre on a night out.

Their romance blossomed and they got engaged the following July.

They wanted to use Warrington-based vendors for their special day and the Parr Hall seemed like the perfect venue for the reception.

Nicola said: "It was fantastic.

"When we booked it nobody could imagine it as a wedding but we had seen it done up as a wedding online.

"We wanted to have it somewhere that meant something to us."

The wedding was in-keeping with the theatre venue, complete with a popcorn machine, candy floss and face painting for the 250 guests.

Other vendors from the town included Dominoes Winwick Road, Jaspers Catering, Cakes by Lauren, Craig Elliot Music and Qube Events and Production.

Photographer Andy Griffiths was on hand to capture the gender reveal during the celebrations.

The 35-year-old was named in the top 100 photographers in the world and in the top 10 in the UK in January.

Speaking about Nicola and Rob's wedding, he said: "For me, shooting weddings gives an insight into people's lives and I love to tell their story rather than just posing people all day for meaningless photos.

"Natural, relaxed moments, capturing the day as it happens, means my couples get to relive their wedding day when they look at their photos.

"I knew this moment would mean a lot to the both of them and I really related to Rob as we have both lost our dads.

"I am so pleased I captured the emotion from Rob as you can really tell how much it means to them.

"It is essentially why I get hired by so many fantastic couples - because they want moments like this, documented and not faked!"
