SKIN cancer survivor Ella Worthington is almost halfway to her target for The Christie following the success of a fundraising event at The Cottons Hotel and Spa in Knutsford.

The ladies charity fashion show, pamper and shopping day was held in aid of East Cheshire Hospice, The Christie Hospital and Lower Moss Wood educational nature reserve.

"It was a brilliant event despite the weather, and we had many ladies just turning up," said Ella.

"There was a great vibe, we received lots of positive feedback and guests and stallholders loved it."

Knutsford Guardian:

Ella thanked everyone who came along, including Knutsford Mayor Cllr Andrew Malloy.

The event raised £100 each for the hospice and Lower Moss Wood, and £500 for The Christie, taking the total raised by Ella for The Christie to more than £4,800, almost half way to her target of £10,000.

Knutsford Guardian:

Ella, from Knutsford, is also taking part in the London Marathon in April for The Christie in memory of her mum Janet and close friend Angela Stewart.

Janet and Angela died at the Christie Hospital, which has also treated Ella for skin cancer. Ella hopes to raise £10,000 for The Christie this year.

Knutsford Guardian:

Ella is holding another fashion show, pamper and shopping day on April 26 at Bramhall Golf Club, in aid of The Christie and The Prince's Trust.
