BBC Radio 4's much loved gardening show Gardeners' Question Time attracted a sell-out audience when it came to Winsford Academy Theatre on Tuesday evening.

Horticultural experts answered questions from the public in a fun-filled evening.

"It was a fantastic event," said John Malam, vice chairman of Over Allotments Association, who hosted the event.

"Bunny Guinness, Matthew Wilson and Bob Flowerdew had no idea what they were going to be asked. The questions were chosen on the night by host Kathy Clugston and producer Laurence Bassett.

More than 300 people came from Winsford, Middlewich, Northwich, Knutsford and as far afield as Staffordshire, North Wales, Nottingham and the Wirral.

"The chemistry between the panellists and the rapport they struck up with the audience was so genuine and heart-warming. It was a gardening programme with lots of life and plenty of good advice.

The show is broadcast from a different venue around the UK each week.
It is estimated that 35,000 questions have been asked by audiences since the show started in 1947.

Two programmes were recorded. The first will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 at 3pm on Friday, February 14, repeated at 2pm on Sunday, February 16.

The second will be aired on Friday, March 13 at 3pm, repeated on Sunday, March 15 at 2pm.
