THE Post Office is to restore services to Chelford on March 9 with the introduction of a temporary Post Office outreach service.

The Hosted Outreach Service, whereby a nearby postmaster provides a service at a set time and location every week, will be operated by the postmaster from Purley Post Office.

The Chelford temporary service will operate from Chelford Community Hub at Astle Court, Elmstead Road, Chelford, twice a week, on Monday from 9.30am to 11.30am and on Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm.

The temporary hosted outreach service will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services.

Customers will be able to take advantage of a wide range of banking services, including cash withdrawals and balance enquiries for customers of all the main UK banks.

To accommodate the new outreach service some minor changes have been made to the current opening hours of the outreach services at Little Budworth and Delamere. The changes will start from March 9.

Post Office Area Network Change Manager, Steve Northey said: “We understand how important having a Post Office service is to residents in Chelford and we are confident this outreach service will meet their needs while we continue to seek for more permanent solution for the area.”

There is a car park at Chelford Community Hub. The Hosted Outreach Post Office service is about 1.8 miles away from the previous branch.

The Hosted Outreach services at Little Budworth Mobile Post Office at Little Budworth Village Hall, Mill Lane, Little Budworth, will change from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday to 9.30am to midday on both days.

The change at Delamere Mobile Post Office at Village Hall, Station Road, Delamere, will be from 9.30am to 2pm on Wednesday and 9.30am to 1pm on Friday to 9.30am to midday on both days.

The Post Office in Holmes Chapel Road, Chelford, closed in September 2018, following the resignation of the Postmaster and

the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use.
