CHILDREN from across the Northwich area are 'Standing Tall' this month, as their artwork goes on show in the town centre.

The third annual Primary Schools' Art Trail is up and running, with eye-catching pieces on display in Witton Street, High Street, Leicester Street and Market Street shop windows.

Work can also be seen in Northwich Library, Asda, Abda Café, Northwich Information Centre and Memorial Court until Friday, February 28.

Based on the theme of ‘Standing Tall', the exhibition promotes self awareness, self confidence, and respect for others regardless of ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation or gender.

Phil Carswell from organisers Visual Arts Cheshire said: "The work is stunning and gives a very clear message that our schools and pupils are developing tolerance and respect.

"So follow the trail and celebrate the message and the creativity of our pupils and teachers."

Trail leaflets are available to pick up from most participating venues as well as event supporter Northwich Art Shop, the library, Brio and the Information Centre.

The event is being supported by Northwich Art Shop, Northwich BID, and Cheshire West and Chester Council.
