KNUTSFORD Mayor Cllr Andrew Malloy is seeking support for a major walking challenge to raise money for a skate park.

On March 14 Cllr Malloy and his wife Nicole, the town Mayoress, are taking on a Mayor’s Three Peaks Challenge with the Mayor of Bollington.

Cllr Malloy said: “We will be climbing the Three Peaks of Cheshire, in one day; a circular walk ascending Tegg’s Nose, Shutlingsloe and Shining Tor.

“The final route is still to be finalised, but is likely to be between 15 and 20 miles in length, starting at 8am and finishing around 5pm.

“This continues my focus on youth, sport, health and fitness, while raising money for Knutsford youth sports and a skate park.

“This walk is also in memory of my father, who was an avid hiker, but who sadly died in a fall while walking in Snowdonia in 2005.”

Cllr Malloy is hoping to raise £2,000 to set up a starter fund for a new skate park for the youth of Knutsford and to support local youth sports and leisure groups.
