FIREFIGHTERS rescued a man from a smoke-logged house in Tudor Road, Wilmslow, at about 7.30pm last night (Wednesday).

Fire crews were called to the house following reports of smoke coming from the property.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property which was smoke-logged and rescued a man. They gave first aid and handed him to paramedics who took him to hospital.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said the smoke had come from unattended cooking and was dispersed with a large fan.
