A SHOPLIFTER who stole three boxes of Italian cake must pay compensation.
Sam Mykel Irving, 34, of no fixed abode, admitted the theft of the Panettone valued at £36 from M&S in Winchester on November 30.
Magistrates in Basingstoke fined him £40 with the order for £46 compensation. There was no victim surcharge because the magistrates said priority should be given to compensation.
