A 12-WEEK course on the 'Eight Steps to Happiness' begins in Holmes Chapel this month.
Meditation classes at Odiyana Buddhist Centre will follow the renowned 11th century teachings with a view to finding inner happiness.
Julie Forrest, education programme coordinator for Odiyana Kadampa Meditation Centre, said: "The 12-week course is based on the widely renowned ‘8 Verses of Training the Mind’ which was composed in the 11th century.
"This book shows us where to find real happiness. If we apply these instructions diligently we will definitely become happier.
"These instructions worked in 11th century Tibet and are just as relevant to modern day England. Our external world may have changed a lot but our basic problems haven’t changed very much."
The course is on Monday nights at 7.30pm at Holmes Chapel Library, running from January 13 up to and including March 30.
Each class comprises two meditations, a talk and discussion over tea and biscuits.
