FIRST Responders received a generous response from the public in the form of £330 in donations at an event promoting their life-saving services.

The awareness day was staged by Knutsford Community First Responder Trust at Booths supermarket in the town.

Adrian Rees, Trustee and Heartstart co-ordinator said: “Following the Knutsford Guardian’s article on the forthcoming event we received fantastic support from all Booths customers and residents.

“Booths kindly allowed our charity to promote KCFRT’s four key life-saving services at their supermarket; thanks again to Booths management.

“This year we were particularly promoting our British Heart Foundation Heartstart courses, which are free to all participants and provide training on ‘how to save the life’ of a cardiac arrest casualty.

“We were also celebrating having trained more than 3,000 Knutsford residents at our Heartstart courses.

“The day was a great success; we received a total of £330 in donations, and many of Booths customers signed up for our upcoming free Heartstart courses.

“Having a dummy on display to enable us to demonstrate how to perform CPR on a casualty helped Booths customers understand the critical need to attend one of our Heartstart courses.”
