CHESHIRE Police has released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to following the ‘disgraceful’ theft of charity collection boxes.

At approximately 3.30pm on Sunday, November 3, two charity boxes for Claire House Children’s Hospice and Guide Dogs for the Blind were stolen from Poundstretcher on Witton Street.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives believe that the man in the CCTV images may have important information to aid their investigation.

They are urging anyone who recognises him or thinks they may know who he is to get in touch.

Northwich Guardian:

Detective Constable Chris Palmer, of Northwich Local Policing Unit, said: “Stealing money that has been collected for charities is disgraceful.

“We are determined to establish who stole the two charity boxes and make them face the consequences of their actions and we believe that the man in the CCTV images may have vital information to help us achieve that goal.

“If you think you recognise the man or know who he is please call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 575092, give us the details via cheshire.police.uk or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the CCTV images to get in touch.”
