A BIRTHDAY celebration for Goostrey's best-known pensioner Margaret Kettle and carols and festive songs from the Brownies entertained the village's oldest citizens.
More than 100 residents tucked into turkey with all the trimmings at the parish council-sponsored and organised annual Senior Citizens Lunch at the village hall.
Mrs Kettle, who was celebrating her 97th birthday on the day, was born and raised in Goostrey and for many years was the local postmistress.
Her shop was known as an 'Aladdin's Cave' because of the variety of goods she sold.
