BAKERS are being urged to get their aprons on in the run-up to the festive season for a Christmas Bake Off.

The event is being hosted by Knutsford Market Hall’s Market Café in conjunction with Knutsford Bake Club on Monday, December 16 from 6pm in aid of Knutsford Royal May Day.

Bakers are urged to enter a festive bake in the following age categories; five to 11, 11 to 17 and 18 plus.

There are no rules – bakers have a free rein, but bakes do need to have a festive theme.

The bakes will be judged by Ollie Chadwick of The Market Café, three members of Knutsford Bake Club, Samantha Chatelet, Kirstie Blake and Christine Banks, along with special guest Father Christmas.

There will be prizes in each category plus an extra prize for the overall Star Baker.

Steph Chadwick of The Market Café said: “We’ve a busy festive calendar at The Market Café and we are really looking forward to this event.

Knutsford Guardian:

“We’ve decided to raise funds for the market’s chosen charity, Knutsford Royal May Day, by charging a £2 entry fee as it is important that funds are raised all year round for this event.

“So, what are you waiting for? Get baking for Christmas and May Day!”

Bakers can bring their bakes for judging between 6pm and 6.30pm on Monday, December 16, and there will be refreshments available to purchase on the night.

The cakes will be sold at the end of the evening to raise extra funds for Royal May Day.
