A MAN caught with a pool ball in a sock in central Southampton has been jailed.
Liam Hunter, 24, was caught with the "offensive weapon" in the High Street, Southampton.
The incident happened on March 11.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, Hunter, of Cromer Road, Southampton, pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon.
Hunter was jailed for four months, due to the "high risk of violence and disorder" and because of Hunter's "previous convictions and poor compliance with court orders".
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
The court ordered the sock and pool ball to be forfeited and destroyed.
