WITTON Church Walk Primary School has received the highest possible grade of ‘excellent’ by religious inspectors.

All Church of England schools are subject to a quinquennial statutory inspection (SIAMS), where they are given a grade of either excellent, good, requiring improvement and ineffective.

These inspections look at each school’s Christian vision, how it is implemented and how effective this is in enabling pupils to flourish.

And Witton Church Walk was given particular praise for the leadership is displays at all levels, which is said to be ‘of the highest quality’, and the way the school is a place where people ‘want to be’.

In their report, the inspector states: “The school’s commitment to opening doors and unlocking gifts leads to learning opportunities of outstanding breadth and quality, enabling pupils to taste life in all its fullness.

Northwich Guardian:

“The life of the school is rooted and grounded in worship, which is thoughtful and inclusive, and the school environment resonates with effective opportunities to think, reflect and respond.

“There are high levels of engagement and progressive learning amongst pupils and increasingly deep subject competence among staff.”

Speaking about the school’s ‘excellent’ grade, headteacher Kathryn Magiera said: “We are extremely proud that the inspector recognised the strong links that our school enjoys with the wider community.

“The support that each child gets on their journey through life and their Christian development was highlighted throughout the report.

“Since the new framework was introduced last year, it has become more challenging to gain an ‘excellent’ rating, and as the head teacher of the school, I feel extremely privileged to work with such dedicated staff and wonderful pupils.

“They form a committed school community who work together continually to ensure we are a school that allows children flourish each and every day.”
