MOTO services Knutsford is supporting Friends for Leisure, the charity which provides fun and friendship to children and young people with disabilities across Cheshire East.

Following a £500 grant from MOTO earlier this year towards the charity’s family support work in Knutsford, staff from both organisations have supported each other to raise funds for Friends for Leisure and the national charity Help for Heroes.

Because of this, the Moto in the Community Trust, the charitable arm of Moto Hospitality, has made a further donation of £2,000 to help fund Friends for Leisure’s weekly drama group over the next 12 months.

Claire Addis, Friends for Leisure fundraising co-ordinator, said: “We really appreciate the support we get from local businesses such as Moto Knutsford.

“We have worked closely with the brilliant staff and look forward to joining up on future fundraising initiatives in 2020 to raise much- needed funds for vulnerable local children.”

Ivan Thomas, general manager of Moto Knutsford, said: “Moto in the Community Trust has partnerships with local school and charities, and is committed to helping support them wherever possible.

“Knutsford services is proud to support Friends for Leisure and enjoys a fabulous relationship that has seen us working together at site on various fundraising activities.”

Friends for Leisure arranges activities from one-to-one friendships through to group activities such as youth groups, meals out and bowling, for disabled children and young people aged five to 21 living in Cheshire East.

The work the charity does helps reduce the isolation and loneliness that can accompany having a disability, as well as improve children’s confidence, self-esteem and overall wellbeing. The charity is supported by a large team of young volunteers.
