FIREFIGHTERS were dispatched to tackle a chimney fire in Kingsmead yesterday afternoon, Sunday.
One fire engine from Northwich Fire Station was called out to Mereworth Drive at approximately 2.45pm after receiving reports of the blaze.
On arrival, the crew found flames coming out from the chimney grate.
Firefighters used chimney rods and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and then used a thermal imaging camera to check that the flames had not spread to the attic.
The crew also used a chimney hose to dampen down the debris within the chimney.
