THE learner pool at Parr Baths has been closed temporarily while ceiling works continue.
The Star reported in early October that the main pool at the centre had been closed as ceiling repair works took place.

Today (Monday, November 18), the council says that the learner pool has now also been closed following a surveyor's inspection.
In a statement, St Helens Council said: "In the interest of public safety, a decision has been made to temporarily close the learner pool at Parr Swimming & Fitness Centre.
"The main pool has been closed for several weeks due to a faulty pool ceiling, and following the results of a surveyor’s inspection, the council has no option but to close the learner pool too until further specialist surveys are completed.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will look to open both pools as soon as possible."
It added: "In the meantime, members of the public wanting to use public swimming pool facilities in the borough can do so by visiting Queens Park Health & Fitness, and the recently upgraded Newton-le-Willows Health and Fitness.
"Customers attending public swimming lessons at Parr will be offered lessons at the other two pools and the council is working with the swimming clubs based at the centre to find them space."
