CIVIC chiefs are launching another consultation over a proposed new primary school in Winchester.

Barton Farm Primary Academy is due to open in September 2020 once sufficient children are living on the new housing estate. It is due eventually to have 420 pupils.

The operators of the school, the University of Winchester Academy Trust, is now holding a consultation until Friday December 13.

The trust must hold a consultation over whether it should enter into a funding agreement with the Department of Education.

It says the exercise will give people, including parents, local residents and councillors more information bout the school.

It is not concerned with any buildings or planning applications.

Two public events are being organised:

Friday November 15, a drop-in session between 10.30am-3.30pm at the university's office on St George's Street;

Wednesday November 20, 5.30-6.30pm, presentation 6pm at St Alphege Building, King Alfred Campus, Sparkford Road.
