INFLUENTIAL gut guru Dr Megan Rossi is to share her tips for good gut health at Booths in Knutsford on Saturday.

Dr Rossi is a nutritionist, dietician and research fellow at King’s College London with a PHD in gut health and kidney disease and 10 years of clinical practice.

She is keen to debunk myths about fasting, superfood and vegan diets, and will be at Booths to sign copies of her book, Eat Yourself Healthy.

She will also be launching her new Bio & Me range of Granolas, which contain 15 types of fibre.

According to Dr Rossi, the secret to a healthier gut is not a restrictive diet, but an inclusive one with the ultimate goal of eating 30 types of plant-based foods every week.

Knutsford Guardian:

She said: “The biggest myth about the gut is that in order to look after it you have an extreme or restrictive diet.

“There’s all this stuff about how gluten’s bad for you or coffee or sugar, but they’re not.

“Gut health is all about eating an inclusive diet, about moderation and plant diversity.

Rossi is keen to stress that improving your gut health doesn’t need to be daunting.

She added: “If you’re buying a bag of salad buy the mixed bag, not the solo iceberg lettuce.

“Don’t just buy a red pepper, buy a yellow one too. Instead of picking up a bag of beans, buy one with carrot or courgette too.

“Have a fry up by all means but have a tomato on the side or add spinach leaves.”

Dr Megan Rossi will be signing copies of her book and sharing samples of her new Bio & Me range of Granolas at Booths between 9am and 10.30am.
