MANOR Park Primary School and Nursery is celebrating ‘sensational’ national recognition for the progress its pupils make in writing, reading and maths.

National data released by Fisher Family Trust rated the school’s progress figures in the top four per cent for writing, top seven per cent for maths and top 15 per cent for reading in the country.

In addition to its national achievements, the school has also been recognised at a local level as having the third highest progress measure in writing in Cheshire East.

All primary schools in the country take nationally-set assessments that measure the attainment and progress of children through their primary school journey.

The progress measure is the measure that provides the school and the community with the most accurate reflection of the value that any school can add to a child’s academic education.

Headteacher Simon Cotterill said: “I am immensely proud of this outstanding data.

“It is further proof that Manor Park is a school that not only offers children high quality pastoral provision and a creative all-round curriculum which excites and engages the children, but also delivers extremely high academic results that will be the envy of many schools throughout the country.

Knutsford Guardian:

“To be able to say the academic progress children make while they are at Manor Park is among the highest in the country is a sensational achievement for everyone concerned.

“Standards have increased greatly over the previous few years, and we are now seeing the benefits of all of the hard work and outstanding teaching and learning that is delivered every day.

“We will not be resting on our laurels, we intend to build on these good results.

Knutsford Guardian:

“We have recently invested in the most up-to-date technology, with a recently-refurbished computing suite where children access all areas of the curriculum from robotics to times table ‘rock stars’, the latest IPads, a 3G sports arena and an award-winning allotment.”

Chairman of governors Geoff Mason said: “Manor Park is a fantastic, high-performing school.

“It is clear the work all of the staff, governors, parents and children have put in over the past few years is really paying off.

“Not only are the children’s results very strong, but the school is a happy, vibrant place where children love to learn with high quality resources to match.”
