A LOSTOCK Gralam care home is inviting neighbours to a special Christmas celebration in December.

Crossways Residential Home, at the Lostock Gralam crossroads, wants residents in the village and beyond to join in and socialise.

Christmas can be a lonely time for some older people, and the December 11 event – including lunch and a party – will seek to build new friendships.

Guests will sit down to a three-course festive lunch with all the trimmings, before the home opens its doors to members of the public for a party with a DJ to emulate a fun Christmas do.

The home will also prepare a candy cane trail and provide a visit to Santa’s Grotto for children coming along to join in the fun with their grannies and grandads.

Charlotte Tierney, Crossways activities coordinator, said: “It is important to build a sense of community for the older generation, especially during the Christmas season when feelings of loneliness can intensify.

"We are pleased to be able to help combat this for the elderly residents of Northwich and we are excited to welcome people of all generations to our home to join in the festive fun together.”

The home is able to accommodate an additional 11 local people to enjoy the lunch alongside its current 34 residents.

Spaces can be arranged by calling Crossways Care Home on 01606 45559 and asking to speak to Charlotte or home manager Sam.

There is a suggested donation of £5 per lunch guest, with lunch served at 12.30pm.

There is no limit on the amount of people who can attend the party after the lunch.
