A FULL line-up of speakers has been confirmed for the mouthwatering CheeseFEAST Festival at the Lion Salt Works next weekend.
The innovative festival celebrating all things cheesy comes to the museum next Saturday and Sunday, November 16 and 17.
Tickets for each day of the event, from 10.30am to 5pm, are £8 and offer the chance to enjoy fascinating talks, demonstrations and tastings.
Saturday, November 16
10.30am – Tour of the Museum’s new Dairy and Cheese Exhibition, featuring Aardman Animations’ model of ‘The Cheese Tent’ from ‘Wallace & Gromit and the Curse of the Were-Rabbit’
11.45am – Live cookery demonstration, featuring cheese recipes by Paola Cecchini of La Cucina Di Paola
2pm – Author of ‘Great British Cheeses’, Jenny Linford, talks about her book
3pm – Talk by Debbie Heritage from Reaseheath College about cheese production and the college’s industry-leading dairy and cheese courses.
4pm – Quirky talk by ‘Periodic Table of Cheese’ founder, Dan Akers, about why he invented this animated game
Sunday, November 17 November (£8 per ticket for this full-day programme)
10.30am – Exhibition Tour of the Museum
11.45am – Live cookery demonstration with leading Chester-based Italian restaurant, Da Noi of, Chester
2pm – Godfrey C Williams & Son in Sandbach – purveyors of fine cheeses. Talk by Daniel Williams, fifth generation and project manager, who has historic connections to the Lion Salt Works.
3pm – Talk by prize-wining Joseph Heler Cheeses of Nantwich
4pm – Live cookery demonstration, featuring recipes with cheese, by the Vegetarian Society’s Cookery School, based in Altrincham
Lynton Dudgeon, of festival sponsors Barratt and David Wilson Homes North West, said: “I think this festival promises to be a hit with both cheese lovers and people who would like to know more about one of Cheshire’s most famous exports.”
