GREATEST Hits Radio presenter Darren Proctor attended the launch at Pownall Hall School of its own radio station.

A fundraising ball staged by the school's Parents Association raised enough money to provide the school with the radio station.

Darren went along to the school this week for the official launch of the station, treating pupils to top tips from the radio-presenting profession.

He said: “It was great to hang out with the children and so good to see them so engaged with this incredible piece of kit.”

Darren was very impressed with how quickly the pupils picked up the skills.

He added: “I was in awe of how quickly the children got it. I am going to have to watch my back with this lot coming through the ranks, I reckon I’ll be listening to some of them in the not-too-distant future.”

Headmaster David Goulbourn said: “This is a fantastic addition to the co-curricular skill set we can offer to our boys and girls.”

Children from pre-school through to year 6 will be able to learn new skills such as script writing, creating jingles, production and presenting skills and teamwork.
