SAINTS prop Luke Thompson has returned to training with the Great Britain squad in New Zealand and has been included in the 21-man squad for Saturday's second test against the Kiwis in Christchurch.

The Saints prop has not featured since popping a rib cartilage in the first 15 minutes of the Tonga test in week one of the tour.

Despite winger Ryan Hall and centre Oliver Gildart heading home from the tour, after both were ruled out through injury, there will be no late call-up for saints wing Regan Grace -with the Lions management opting not to bring in any late replacements.

Head Coach Wayne Bennett commented: “We have every faith in the ability of the players within our squad to get the job done. It is disappointing for Ryan and Oliver that they have had to leave the tour through injury.”

The Great Britain squad were already without Sam Burgess, Tommy Makinson, Mark Percival, Luke Gale, Kallum Watkins, Stevie Ward, Morgan Knowles and James Roby through injury before the tour departed.

GB will have a makeshift backline with Jack Hughes named in the initial squad at centre with Zak Hardaker reverting to the wing.

The 21 man squad in full is:

1. Jonny Lomax (St Helens) 2. Jermaine McGillvary (Huddersfield Giants) 3. Jack Hughes (Warrington Wolves) 4. Jake Connor (Hull FC) 5. Zak Hardaker (Wigan Warriors) 6.
