SAINTS prop Luke Thompson is unlikely to play again on the Great Britain tour to New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

The GB coach Wayne Bennett confirmed this morning that the rib cartilage injury that forced Thompson off the field in the first 15 minutes of the game against Tonga is still troubling him.

He missed today's defeat by New Zealand and has already been ruled out for the return test next week.

The fourth game of the tour is in Papua New Guinea.

Bennett said: "He'll be lucky to play again this tour.

"He has done his rib cartilage and it keeps popping in and out at the moment."
