REVELLERS packed out the Royal British Legion for another successful Middlewich Beer Festival as the rain teemed down outside.

The weekend saw 40 beers and ciders on offer – with the Campania Ice Cream Milk Stout from Mission Creep taking the honour of first beer to run dry.

Saturday's lunchtime sessions was extended by popular demand, and organisers Middlewich Round Table are now asking for feedback.

Posting on Facebook in the aftermath of the celebrations, they said: "What a weekend, we are still getting over it.

"But we want to thank everyone who supported the event this weekend. We can't explain how happy we are with the success of the weekend.

"There are some people who deserve a special thanks as without them the weekend just wouldn't happen.

"Firstly Les Brown and Alan Edwards – these two gents worked their behinds off last week setting up all the handpumps and bar.

"Without their years of experience we'd be up that creek without a paddle.

"We would also like to give a special thanks to Marstons, WPI, Lockwell Electrical Distributors and Holdcroft Nissan Stoke, Crewe, Northwich, and every company that sponsored a barrel of beer. We truly appreciate the support.

"Also thanks to Cheshire Stars Netball Club for selling raffle tickets they do a much better job at it than us."

Round Table members are now set to turn their attention to the popular Santa's Sleigh event in the run-up to Christmas.
