MEMBERS of Wilmslow for Europe were among the million people who took part in the march in London at the weekend calling for a referendum on any Brexit deal.
Judith Hughes from Wilmslow for Europe said: “The atmosphere was more tense than on previous marches because of the timing and the voting in Parliament but that, given the sheer numbers of people on the streets, this was not a protest movement that was going to shrug its shoulders and accept a Brexit that it considers to be against the national interest.
“It is now high time that this Government accepts that the Brexit it is offering is a very far cry from what was promised in the 2016 Referendum and it is only fair and right that the people of this country, the ones who have to live with its consequences are asked whether this is still what they want. It is time for a people’s vote.”
