ST LUKE'S Hospice is gearing up for its simplest fundraising event in its 31-year history and is urging local businesses to get involved.

Bring a Pound to Work Day on Thursday, November 14 is all about workplaces of all shapes and sizes coming together for one day to fundraise for St Luke’s.

Andy Bailey, corporate partnerships manager at St Luke’s said: “These days everyone is busy and a lot of local businesses tell us that they would love to support St Luke’s but unfortunately don’t always have the time. The beauty of this idea is that it’s really easy to take part and our teams of volunteers will even collect the donations.”

The hospice is hoping to attract 100 local business to sign up for the campaign. One of the first to pledge support is Advanced Medical Solutions on Winsford Industrial Estate, a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative surgical and wound care products and long-term supporters of St Luke’s.

Sam Davies, from Advanced Medical Solutions, said: “We thought that in our ever increasing busy lives Bring a Pound to Work Day would help everyone to get involved with raising money for St Luke's without any effort or time spent.

"Being a part of this event is as easy as it sounds. So on Thursday, November 14, our colleagues will simply bring a pound to work and donate it to St Luke's Hospice in Winsford. Every pound counts!"

Whether you are in a team of two, 20 or 200, St Luke’s would like you to register and help make this new initiative a success. All of the pounds will go towards patient care at the Hospice, to support more local people and their families.
