RED balloons will be popping up across Knutsford estates tomorrow (Sunday) as British Heart Foundation supporters stage a series of garage sales.

The Garage Sale Trail is being organised by the Knutsford branch of the BHF, and will see sales at 13 homes on the Grove Park and The Ways estates (the latter near Bexton Primary School).

The sales take place between 2pm and 4pm, and it is hoped to raise between £150 and £200 on the day for the BHF and World Heart Day.

Look out for the red balloons at the homes taking part, which will also have maps of where to find the sales.

The event is being organised by Knutsford BHF branch chairman Nina Eastwood, who is also holding one of the sales, and has been rescheduled after being called off two weeks ago because of torrential rain.

Knutsford Guardian:

The homes taking part are in Lowland Way, Grassfield Way, Summers Way, Roxby Way, Valley Way, Highland Way and Grove Park.

Nina said: “I had to cancel it two weeks ago because the weather was so awful, so I’m really hoping it will be OK tomorrow.

“Homes taking part are each giving some of their takings to the BHF. We'll all have red balloons so people can spot us and follow the map to visit as many as they want.”

Helping to man Nina’s stall, which will include home-made cakes, will be her sons Jacob, 10, and Luca, eight, pupils at Bexton Primary.

The Knutsford BHF group is starting preparations for its annual Ladies Night at The Courthouse in Knutsford, which takes place on February 1, 2020.

It is organised by Nina and Sian Rourke from Macclesfield. Nina’s son Luca and Sian’s son both underwent open heart surgery, and money raised at the Ladies Night will be divided between the BHF and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

A collection for the BHF is being held at Booths in Knutsford until 5pm this afternoon (Saturday).
