TOWN Bridge will be closed to motorists on Sunday, November 3 as an inspection on the condition of the bridge is carried out.
The closure is part of three planned bridge closures in the area funded by Chester West and Chester Council.
During the closure, the Canal and River Trust will be carrying out necessary maintenance work to the bridge including improving crossing points and removing any debris caused by the wet weather.
Acton Swing Bridge on the A49 and Sutton Weaver Bridge, near Frodsham, will be closed overnight on Monday, October 14 for re-surfacing and maintenance work.

Canal and River Trust project manager Fran Littlewood said: “Thousands of motorists use the iconic metal swing bridges over the River Weaver Navigation every day, so it’s a top priority for both the Trust and the council to keep them in good working order.
“These are small but important repairs to keep everything running smoothly. The work will mainly be carried out at night to minimise disruption to traffic and there will be no effect on river navigation."
The overnight repairs to Acton Swing Bridge will remove the need for the current speed restrictions and warning signs on the A49 carriageway on the approach to the bridge.
