ABOUT 30 members of Knutsford Photographic Society enjoyed an impressive presentation of images in their first open competition of the new season.
In the projected digital image (PDI) section Knutsford photographer Gordon Spruce took first and fourth places, against a strong field of 63 images.
'Wheel of Speed'
Gordon’s winning entry ‘Wheel of Speed’ was taken at the Oulton Park racing circuit.
The open print section saw a captivating array of sports images, with two white water slalom canoeists making the top five.
The eventual winner was a striking sports image of BMX racing ‘Chums to the finish line’ taken by local photographer John Cridland.
It was also good to see new members featuring in both competitions, with Nigel Wells taking second place in the PDI section with ‘Tug of War’.
'Tug of War'
In the print section another new member Bill Browne took second place with the ‘Harpist’.
Round two of the competition challenges all members to produce their very best monochrome images.
All of the placed images can be seen on the KPS website, knutsfordps.org.uk/
