THE District Commissioner for Knutsford Scouts, Martin Relton, has been thanked for his ‘tremendous efforts’ after retiring from the role after 14 years.
District president Tony Leadbetter said: “Martin has been the Commissioner for the Knutsford District Scouts since 2005.
“During this time due to his tremendous efforts Knutsford has gone from strength to strength.
“Membership has risen to over 500 with some Groups having waiting lists.
“A record number of Queen’s Scout and Duke of Edinburgh awards have been granted, and facilities for Scouting have been improved, including a new headquarters for 1st Knutsford to be built on the Moor.
“Last May it was decided it was time to hand over the role to a new leader.”
At a recent presentation District Chairman Mike Hosker thanked Martin for his dedication to Knutsford Scouts, adding that the District would miss an enthusiastic and much-appreciated leader.
