PLENTY of smiles were on show and a lot of fun was had as Moulton Adventure Group celebrated 50 years of excitement.

The not for profit uniformed youth organisation offer indoor and outdoor activities for children between the ages of eight and 18.

To celebrate, a camping-themed celebration was held and past and present members of the group were invited to attend.

And people travelled to Moulton from all over the country and as far away as London to celebrate the milestone event.

The celebration was organised by the current group members, who erected a number of marquees and tents that Moulton Adventure Group take away each year for their Annual Big Camp.

A Duke of Edinburgh tent was also set up to display all the equipment used by the group as members progress through the DofE award levels from bronze to gold.

Inside the Marquee was various pictures taken and collected throughout the group’s 50 year history and past members were able to spend time reminiscing about their younger selves.

Camping games were also on offer for members of all ages to take part in and enjoy.

A special treat was afforded to past members as they were given access to the group building to look around.

Many of the members had not been in or seen the building for many years and they said that it was lovely to be back in a place which holds so many happy memories.

Towards the end of the day, current Moulton Adventure Group leader Harriet Hart gathered past and present members together and thanked them on behalf of everyone at the group for attending.

Thanks was also given to Geoff Crompton, who founded the group back in 1969, as without him, Moulton Adventure Group would not exist.

A huge round of applause filled the air and Geoff was given the honour of cutting the groups birthday cake.
