RESIDENTS packed into The Wilmslow Guild for a sold-out edition of Radio 4’s live broadcast Any Questions?

With millions of Radio 4 listeners also tuning in, the main hall had been transformed into a Radio 4 studio for a debate by a panel of MPs who had made their way from Westminster up the M6 and found themselves at the Wilmslow Guild for the evening.

The event was chaired by Edward Stourton, and guests had pitched in their questions to the panel which included Hilary Benn MP (Labour) Chairman of the Brexit Select Committee, Kirsty Blackman (SNP) Deputy Leader at Westminster, Antoinette Sandbach MP and Nigel Evans MP (Conservative) Joint Executive Secretary of the 1922 Committee.

There followed a relatively measured and calm series of exchanges, in stark contrast to the sister programme Question Time which had been broadcast the night before.

Guid principal, Paul Riordan said “It was an absolute pleasure to host Any Questions at our very own Wilmslow Guild.

“We are passionate about educating our communities and this was a very interesting political discussion in which residents locally and further afield thoroughly enjoyed.”

The broadcast is now available to listen to online at BBC Radio 4 (bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000843j)
