THE M56 was closed near Stretton for 12 hours following a serious crash last night, Thursday.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance and four fire engines, were called to the scene between J10 Stretton and J9/M6 Lymm Interchange following the incident.

The motorway was closed at around 5.55pm and reopened shortly before 5am this morning, Friday.
It involved saloon cars and a heavy goods vehicle.
Paramedics treated casualties but no-one was trapped inside any of the vehicles and no hazardous materials were involved.
