MIDDLEWICH'S community mayor and mayoress have helped open a new community garden in Cledford.

Community mayor David Roberts and consort Lynne Hardy were at Princess Court on Wednesday, September 11, for the official opening of the supported living scheme's new garden.

Built by residents, it has had financial and practical support from British Salt.

The opening ceremony was performed by David, who congratulated all concerned on completing the new garden, which will be an asset for all the residents of Princess Court for years to come.

It was a day of anniversaries, with Princess Court celebrating its 10th year while its parent organisation, the Richmond Fellowship, marked its 60th year.

British Salt is this year marking 50 years of salt making in Middlewich.

Princess Court offers seven self contained, fully furnished flats for adults over the age of 18 and is a step-down service for individuals who have had a stay in hospital.
