FOUR detached houses are to be built at Goostrey Business Park in Allostock following approval of the scheme.

Cheshire West and Chester Council gave the go-ahead for the Shooting Box Wood reserved matters scheme off New Platt Lane, relating to layout, scale, appearance and landscaping issues.

Outline permission for the development had been refused in February 2016, but was allowed on appeal in February 2017.

The reserved matters application shows four houses arranged in a U-shaped layout, each of two-storeys with steeply-pitched roofs.

A report by a planning officer recommending approval of the scheme said: “The scale of the dwellings is considered to be suitable for the site.

“The scale would be greater than the single storey commercial building which previously occupied the site, but it would be consistent with the scale of development envisaged for the scheme at the outline stage and the scale of other new dwellings in the area.

“The site is also screened by trees to the sides and rear and on the opposite side of New Platt Lane to the south.

“Overall, the submitted details indicate a suitable scale of development which would have a limited impact on the local character in this open countryside location.”
